With COVID-19 taking over the planet, the last year and a half have been tough for most people, the endless lockdowns, and restrictions, even on going outside for exercise, being locked in our homes for extended periods of time is not something humans are designed for. Now things look like they are getting back to normal, at least a little bit, why not push the button and book a mental health retreat in Koh Samui, Thailand?

Under a scheme called Samui Plus, travellers are allowed to come to Koh Samui, Koh Phangan or Koh Tao for no less than 14 days which will be in a pre-booked “Samui Plus Hotel”, however after this period of time, you are allowed to travel anywhere in Thailand.

At Lamai Fitness Retreat, we offer a complete Mental Health Retreat package and promoting Wellness in our guests is one of our aims.

Many studies have shown the link between mental health and exercise. Exercise releases endorphins which trigger positive feelings in the brain, boosting your mental health whilst also improving your physical fitness. In many countries, people have only been allowed to exercise for 1 hour a day, which isn’t much in the grand scheme of things. Our aim is to change that, even if it is for a short period of your stay. Classes are run throughout the day, the gym is open all day and if you are having a rest day, the beach is right next door to our beautiful resort.

We provide many different types of classes to suit your preferences; Gym sessions, jungle treks, cycling, triathlon training or Mauy Thai boxing. Mauy Thai is one of the more traditional ways to get fit in Thailand and the gym is right next door and the coaches are all of Thai nationality.

Classes are held on Breath work and yoga by friendly coaches who are more than happy to guide you through, no matter what your experience with classes such as these. These are slightly gentler classes, but they are no less challenging!

We also have fantastic communal areas such as a very nice swimming pool and great café which serves nutritionally balanced meals and possibly meet some new friends which can also improve your overall wellness and Mental health.
